Junior Stories

by: Kali Watts

Continuing a long standing tradition, Michaela Lamb, English teacher at RHS, will be taking her English 11 classes to Sunrise Elementary to give the third graders their own personal children’s books on February 8th. Due to the harsh weather conditions, the juniors did not get to travel to Sunrise to get a one-on-one interview with their buddy, but they drafted a set of interview questions for the third graders to respond to.

Aspen Rowe, junior, said, “I think it is very interesting to come up with different stories to fit the kids interests.” The main idea of this project to teach writing and publishing skills and processes and it provides a fun and creative way for RHS students to connect with younger Spartans. Lamb said, “It’s a good way for the juniors to interact with the third graders in a positive and meaningful way.”
