On February 14th, both the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams both won their final home games on senior night, defeating Carrollton. The girls won 39-35. This was the last win in Richmond for seniors Lexi Pierson, Harlee Ford, Emily Martens, Makenzie Mcbee, and Carley Bowling. The win was bittersweet according to Pierson, who said it “was exciting but also upsetting because we’d never play on our own home floor again.”
The boys won 51-37, which was the final home game for seniors Solomon Branson, Nathan McGill, Kaleb Caldwell, Clayton Coldwell, Calvin Swafford, Shane Leakey, Josh Issacson, and Cooper Turley who have all been playing together since freshman year. Swafford said that “It felt great to win my last game on our home court and bring back another undefeated conference championship.”
