Despite the freezing temperatures, it is time to kick off the spring sports season! All the coaches and teams are busy getting ready for the season. Even so, most of the coaches were able to comment on their expectations.
Brandon Quick, head baseball coach, said that he feels ready for this season. Quick says that he feels “the team has a chance to compete for both conference and district titles.”
Mike Long, who coaches the track team at RHS, is confident in his team’s ability this season. It will be a good one and after the first meet they will more accurately gauge where they are at.
Coach Julie Baker, boys’ tennis, says that she has a very new team that is inexperienced at the varsity level, but there are some returning players. Baker says that the team will do their best “to come out fighting and get better with each day.”
Murray Dennis, the boys’ golf coach, was unable to comment on the season, but the team has had success in the past and we are excited to see how they will do this year. This year should be a good one for RHS spring sports teams!
