On February 13th, the RHS Wrestling team took 4 state qualifiers to Columbia to compete at the state tournament.
Participants were juniors Logan Claypole and Mason Hutchings, sophomore Ryker Plymell, and freshman Conner Teat. Throughout the tournament, the boys gave it their all to be able to make it to the finals. Moving on were Claypole and Hutchings.
Hutchings placed 5th in the 132 pound weight class. He said, “State was a great experience and it felt great knowing that all the hard work I put in finally paid off.”
Previously in 2018, Claypole placed 6th at the state tournament, but this year he was determined to do better. He ended up placing 4th in the 120 pound weight class. All the boys who qualified this year will have another shot to compete at next year’s state tournament.
