Lights, Camera, Action!

by: Hailey Fairchild

The RHS advanced dramatics class has been conducting their own Directors’ Unit. The students all picked a scene from a movie, book or show that they enjoyed and presented to the class how they would make the set, the costumes, makeup, and why the scene was important to them.

Five students: Ian List, Jared Richards, Ansley Walker, Hannah Truitt and Hailey Fairchild were voted as directors. Together, the chosen directors organized their own auditions and began directing. They performed their scenes on Monday the 12th and Tuesday the 13th. Mr. Robertson, the teacher of the class said, “The purpose of the Directors’ Unit was to give students an opportunity for leadership and to strengthen their theatrical skill by looking at things from a different perspective.” The students enjoyed the experience and look forward to doing it again in the future!

Jonathan Durbin, Autumn Fisk, and Maggie Sause rehearse for their scene for their Advanced Dramatics class.
