About FFA

Richmond High School's FFA provides many opportunities that most student organizations do not. FFA is not just a school club, but allows students to continue with a career after high school for leadership development and personal growth. They have numerous leadership workshops throughout the year at state and national level.

This year, the first national FFA convention is October 24th through the 27th in Indianapolis.

Take Your Shot!

Trap Shooting is off to a great start this year! There are a lot of new people on the team and Mr. Chuck Foreman, the Trap Team adviser, cannot wait to see how their skills improve throughout the season. During their first practice the team “went over the basics for safety, then just let them do some practice shooting.”

Foreman said the first competition “went pretty well, there’s a total of twelve shooters and a high score of ninety-six out of a hundred by Dylan Powell”. Sophomore Dalton Jones hopes that they win a plaque this year from state. Jones simply likes to be able to safely shoot something within a school program.

The trap shooting manager this year, Harlie Appleberry, likes to be involved within the school programs and helps Mr. Foreman with keeping score so he can focus on the trap shooters. Appleberry hopes for the best for the season and that “we can get more scholarships for people going to college.”

Richmond's FFA is the largest organization in the school with 77 student members.
