This year’s Richmond Lady Spartan Softball team has made history. Thursday October 11th they traveled to Higginsville where they faced Lexington for their first round of districts. After playing nine hard-fought innings, the Spartans were able to push the first run of the night across the plate, winning the game 1-0.
Saturday October 13th they traveled to Higginsville where they would face the Lady Huskers playing in the district championship. This was the first time in 20 years that the Spartans were playing in a district championship.
The final score was 4-3 after playing 10 nail-biting innings. This is the first time the softball team has ever won a district title. Congratulations ladies!
