The Historic Bell Game

In 1988 the very first bell game between the Richmond Spartans and the Lexington Minutemen took place. The winner of the annual football game gets to keep a replica of the original bell: a historic artifact that once rode on a steamship which exploded on the Missouri River in 1852. Ever since then, the bell game has been one of the most anticipated games of the year for both teams.

Besides the game between Richmond and Lexington, the two schools also compete in competitions such as the canned food drive. In the early 2000's Richmond rightfully won the bell game. From that year until 2017 the bell remained in our possession.

This will be a very challenging game, however, the feud will fuel the Richmond Spartans for a win! Go Spartans!
